Taking a Chance on Homeless

I don’t understand why people don’t give the homeless money. I’ve heard their reasoning before “they’ll spend it on drugs or booze”. It shouldn’t be about that. The reason i give the homeless money is because when i do I’m giving someone a chance, not a handout, a chance. I’m giving them the chance to change. who knows, maybe they will spend it on drugs but that’s not my decision. If i was in that position I’d want someone to give me a chance.
